Thermal alliesthesia under whole-body step-change transients

A better understanding of the psycho-physiological mechanisms driving human thermal perception during dynamic conditions is important to improve physiological-based comfort models. During transients, two phenomena overshoot and alliesthesia concurrently affect comfort. However, they have date been analysed separately. In this paper, we report results an experiment exploring subjective responses 16 males 48 females four different whole-body warm cool step-change transients at times day (morning/afternoon) in distinct seasons (summer/autumn). We found that time season both significantly relationship between sensation. This was then used predict which compared actual vote transients. allowed us separate contribution due from attributed alliesthesia. could show that, positive increases level proportionally perceived corrective potential discomfort, effect gets stronger as move away neutrality.
